What is Startup Weekend?
Startup Weekend is a global event where entrepreneurs, designers, developers, and others come together to pitch ideas, form teams, and launch startups in just 54 hours. It's a program under Techstars, a global startup ecosystem that provides resources, mentorship, and funding to entrepreneurs to help them build and grow successful businesses.

Share your thoughts, gather your team and get ready to build your winning idea for Busan. We’ve got a handy hacking toolkit prepared for you - all we need is your enthusiasm!

Fieldwork with Mentors
Go out and explore Busan with specialized, dedicated mentors, who will help you with understanding the city, the people, and the market.

What ideas can I work on?
Any ideas related to Busan, Expo2030, urban challenges and social issues are welcome.
I don’t have any experience in startups. Can I still join?
Yes! It’s your opportunity to experience firsthand what startup life is like! Enjoy the ride~
How big can the team be?
No smaller than 2 people no bigger than 6.
Are there any criteria for the selection? Is my participation confirmed once I register?
The registration is first-come-first served. Once the event capacity is filled, we will be opening a waiting list for those who want to join.
Can I join as an individual or a team?
You register as an individual but you can participate as a pre-established team.
I’ve been working on my business idea related to Busan for the last 2 years. Can I still pitch it?
As long as it’s still in the idea phase, yes. You cannot pitch an existing, active business.
What do we get out of the event?
Experience, knowledge, expertise but most importantly network and great friendships. On top of event swag.
What happens after Techstars Startup Weekend?
It’s up to you. 10% of the teams go on to continue working on their ideas and some of them turn them into actual businesses. Others get together with people they met during Startup Weekend and work on other new ventures. But all of them stay connected with the community of SW participants.
